So what have I been doing? What has been slowing down my daily blogging? Let me share with you guys the list in my planner of things (in no particular order) I have to think about daily, just to keep you updated on what's new/what I'm still doing:
I'm taking art, English, and philosophy this semester. My only other class is seminary, so these are the only three I need to worry about! Art has been fun, which is a good sign since I'm going to be an art major. English is getting old because I really hate writing about what people tell me to write about. And honestly, philosophy is too hard to listen to and has become mine and Jeff's chatting time. We are working on it. Anyway, my load of homework is not too bad, but it really sucks when I do have it because I've become a bit of a procrastinator!
I'm still loving my job at Thanksgiving Point! My boss is so great and my coworker Madison and I have too much fun with our dry, sarcastic humor. Things are kind of slow in the sign room, as they have been all winter. But there is always mail to be delivered, so that's good! Plus it is convenient to be able to get time off as competition season is approaching.
Keeping the house clean
This actually hasn't been that big of a problem lately, because my parents have been doing lots of dishes! It is awesome! But there is always laundry to be done, so good thing it is my favorite. Cleaning is sometimes more of a distraction than a responsibility for me, because I'll be doing homework then I'll need water, so I'll go to the kitchen and next thing I know I'm cleaning everything. Weird problem, I know.
Chapter display (and all things SkillsUSA)
Now this is what is taking up the bulk of my time! There are less than two months left before State, and we haven't gotten very far at all. Not to mention, our third Chapter Display member resigned last week! So Jeff and I are searching for a third teammate and we have no idea who would be good for that. Meanwhile, we have been working on the tedious task of handcrafting 72 plexiglass boxes with vinyl on the sides and the faces of members on the front. You'll understand what I'm talking about eventually, once we have enough done.
Thankfully, I cut my piano teaching days in half this year. Now I only teach Mondays and Wednesdays (for longer hours, but still), and it is awesome! I do love teaching, but it does take a nice chunk of time out of my schedule.
Chinese New Year
I'm not even in Chinese class or Chinese club, but somehow I have a lot of responsibilities for this event. But, Mr. Andersen took me to China, so I'm happy to help out, haha! I'm in charge of all things photography for the event, so I have been spending hours in his classroom taking some pictures that I should actually show you because they are rather amusing. It's been quite the time editing them up. I'll also be at the school the day of, in charge of the photobooth. Crap, I'm also in charge of the Facebook page... I forgot about that...
This week I was informed that I am a semi-finalist or something, which means that I have been chosen based off of my portfolio to be interviewed for the next round! I'll go do that next week, and maybe I should be nervous but I'm really not. Too much to do to spend time being nervous.
Oh dear. My fashion design project is in a questionable state, considering the most I've done is draw out some designs. The competition is a week before the SkillsUSA competition, and obviously Skills is more important to me, so we will see how much I get done. To be honest, I'm thinking about bagging fashion design and competing in Future CTE Teacher instead. Which would make sense because it is applicable to my future. But at the same time, I know I could dominate fashion design! Agh! Eh, I'll figure this out later.
My new calling
I have been recently released as the Laurels President, but was immediately called for the coolest calling! I am now a Ward Family History Specialist, which couldn't be more perfect. Except for the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing, of course. But it is perfect in the sense that my goal was to work on family history work this year. I had no idea how to go about that, but now I have a plan! And not only will I be able to do my own family's work, but I can also help other people with theirs. I'm excited.
So there are a few of the things that have been on my mind! I try to stay responsible and on top of them, but to be honest I am kind of overwhelmed. I just have to remember to take it one day at a time, and to keep my priorities in order! And, as you can see, blogging doesn't always make the top of the priorities list. But I will always come back to it because I believe that journaling my life is so important!
